IZ BLOGA KOLBE CENTRA

Dear Friends of the Kolbe Center,
Pax Christi!
Wherever we go in Europe, North America, Australia or any of the so-called "developed" nations of the world, learned fellow Catholics are wont to dismiss us as protestant fundamentalists.  This is an absurd claim, and easily refuted by anyone who studies the writings of the Fathers and Doctors of the Church on Creation and the sacred history of Genesis. One of the fundamental truths of traditional Catholic theology that has been all but abandoned by contemporary Catholic theologians, both modernist and conservative, is the distinction between the order of Creation in which God supernaturally created the heavens, the Earth, the seas and all they contain by His Word and the natural order which only began after the whole work of Creation was finished.
Saint Ambrose writes of this in his commentary on Genesis as follows:
"Let there be a firmament made amidst the waters and let it divide the waters from the waters; and it was so [Gen. 1:6]." This is the word of a commander, not of an adviser. It is He Who gives orders to nature, and does not comply with its power....It is His will that is the measure of things, and His word that is the completion of the work....Since His word is nature's birth, justly therefore does He Who gave nature its origin presume to give nature its law. (Saint Ambrose, "Hom. 3," Ch. 2(4), Hexameron, FC, 42:48.)
Anyone who meditates on these words of St. Ambrose, Father and Doctor of the Church, can easily see the fatal flaw in Big Bang cosmology with its assumption that we can extrapolate from the material processes that we observe now all the way back to the beginning of the universe to explain how the stars and galaxies came to be.
To make it easier for readers of this newsletter to educate their fellow Catholics in the fundamental truths of the traditional Catholic doctrine of creation, we have prepared discussion questions to be used with the following videos on the Kolbe home page:
By viewing two of these short videos in each session and having a short discussion, in three one-hour sessions you could give a group of your fellow Catholics a good understanding of the fundamental truths of traditional creation theology.  If you would like to have a copy of the discussion questions, please email me, and I will be happy to send them to you.
Please keep the Kolbe Center in your prayers.
Yours in Christ through the Immaculata,
Hugh Owen
