Melania Trump (née Knavs) was born in Novo Mesto, Slovenia (then, part of the former-Yugoslavia).
As such, Mrs. Trump will become only the second First Lady to be born outside of the United States, and the only First Lady who was not born as a citizen of the US, or the colonies which would later form the United States.
In fact, Melania was educated in Slovenia and went to the University of Ljubljana for one year. She then took up a professional modeling career, which eventually brought her to the United States, where she was naturalised as a US citizen in 2006.
But, as she is European by birth, we, here in Europe, should be aware of the good opportunity in front of us.
Mrs. Trump will now become a role-model for both Americans, and for many other people around the world.
Please send your good wishes to Melania, as she prepares to become the First Lady of the US. At the same time, please ask her to defend Life, Family and Freedom when and where possible.

On Tuesday, 8 November, Donald Trump shocked the world as he was elected to be the next President of the United States of America.
This petition asks people to wish Melania Trump well in her future role as First Lady. And, because of the influence of her new position, we are also encouraging Melania, herself, to defend Life, Family and Freedom, whenever and wherever possible.

Mrs. Trump played a modest role in her husband's campaign to win the presidency.
But, on a few occasions, she did speak on the campaign trail, and it's worth remarking that, in one of the last speeches before the election, she stated the following: "We must find better ways to honour and support the basic goodness of our children..."
This is a good indication that she clearly sees a child's innocence as something worth protecting.
Please sign this note of encouragement, asking Mrs. Trump to defend Life, Family and Freedom in the causes she promotes.
Now, post-election...Melania Trump will become a role-model to millions of Americans, and to millions of other people around the world.
